Day 26 - healed. It is finished

I havent been cleaning it as often as i used to. I have been keeping it dry, it hasnt been oozing pus so it was alright. It has been slightly itchy, id only itch around it but not the actual area. Today the scab came off in two layers. So that is all.

Here is the outcome below:

I have ordered a pressure earring and this is what it looks like. It doesnt fit too well only because of where my keloid was placed. Its a weird, thick, unleveled area. So maybe this will be okay for now, but i will invest in another more stronger holding earring. Then i will mostly use this one for special occasions :p

The journey has ended (: thank you. I will post up an update to see how life after removal has been.

  1. Thank you for your blog, I finally plucked up the courage and went ahead with the rubberband method after 2 surgeries and series of injections.
2.5 weeks in total - now just a scab.
Appreciate your pics and story, thanks again :) Cheers, Mxx

  2. what did you use to sanitize/clean the rubber bands before applying them? and how often did you change the bands?

    1. I used Dettol. I didn't change my bands at all. Sorry, I'm terribly late.

  3. Did you manage to kill it for good this time? If so how long did you wear the pressure earring for? Has the área healed ok? :)

    1. Hey! Sorry I'm late! but it's still gone to this day. It hasn't grown a bit. I has stayed the same as when it healed this time round. Of course it grew back the first time, but I don't know what I did differently to make it stay down this time?

To be honest I didn't wear it for long at all. I would say 2 days max. Even 1 day! I should write a post about that.. (the pressure ring was so uncomfortable because the placement of my keloid is on a 'hill' and the pressure ring flattens that cartilage bone).

The area is healed as far as skin goes, but there is still evidence that something used to be there.

  5. Thank you soooo much for replying! This is amazing news! If you have time could you post a picture? I am waiting for hospital appointment but they seem unwilling to cut mine off so I think I will try it. Did you have little lump on the other side too?

    1. I'm so sorry for the major delay. Google did something and my notifications went haywire with youtube subscription notifications that my blogger notifications were hard to spot. I only had a keloid on one side.

  6. I just started my strangulation journey today, not sure if it's tight enough. Every now and then I get a sharp pain Inot my ear, I've had 2 surgeries 2 have it removed and now it's uglier than ever, it actually wraps around my ear so I put a rubber band name the front and 1 in the back..ray hope this works 4 mine!

  7. Hi I hope your keloid is gone? I did mine around the same time you did yours on your first blog. Unfortunately mine grew back and so I had surgery instead and they cut it off BUT then it grew back again last year and even bigger. (I had a pressure earring but i was soo lazy to wear it :( )So I tried 2nd surgery and this time I got monthly steroid shots along with it and it i have no more keloid :) I hope that yours is gone too!

    1. Mine is still gone and I'm glad yours is too! I didn't use pressure earrings cos I too was also lazy. Still flat without the steroid shots too. I'm just lucky this time round. Cheers to being keloid free 😉

  8. I was a afraid of doing this, i started out with bands, then switched to string when i saw the bands a bit loose, i had to put string on twice. It hurt like hell but i dont think it died fast enough, it fell off on the 8th but it didnt really turn fully black til about day 6. My hole unfortunately shrank alot and i may need to get it repierced/stetched, although prob not a great idea. I just wanted to say thank you, i visted your vlog almost every day to compare or for encouragement. Never had to worry about infection. Thank you again, i put it off too long and finally took action. Its nice to have my earlobe back again even if possibly only for a bit. But i also plan on wearing my pressure earrings as well :)
